When to talk to the pharmacist before buying
- You've used painkillers for more than 3 consecutive days for a headache — overuse can itself become a cause of headaches.
- You've used pain relief for more than 10 days for any other pain — we'd want to understand what's driving it.
- You're already taking other medicines — particularly blood thinners, certain antidepressants, methotrexate, or other anti-inflammatories.
- You have stomach ulcers, asthma, heart, kidney or liver problems — ibuprofen and aspirin may not be safe; we can recommend an alternative.
- You're pregnant or breastfeeding — paracetamol is generally safe but ibuprofen is not recommended; ask us first.
- The pain is severe, sudden, or unlike anything you've had before — that's a "see a doctor today" sign, not an OTC situation.
If any of these apply, walk in, phone 0113 244 1551, or message WhatsApp first — it takes us five minutes to point you to the right thing.
