What is 4head QuickStrip Cooling Strips 4?

4head QuickStrip is a soft gel strip you press onto clean, dry skin on your forehead or the back of your neck when a headache or migraine starts. It is not a medicine and contains no painkiller, so it can be used alongside your usual tablets or on its own if you prefer to avoid them. Each strip gives up to six hours of cooling and can be trimmed with scissors to the size you need.

How does it help?

The strip is a hydrogel made of levomenthol and water. As the water slowly evaporates at skin temperature it draws heat away from the skin, and the levomenthol stimulates the cold-sensing nerve endings, producing a steady cooling sensation. This cooling helps to dull the feeling of tension and pain at the front of the head.

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use. For external use on unbroken skin only; do not use on irritated or damaged skin. Keep the strip away from the eyes, nostrils and mouth, as the menthol can sting, and wash your hands after applying it; the cooling vapour may make your eyes water for a short while. If you are sensitive to levomenthol you may notice redness, itching or swelling: remove the strip and stop using it if this happens. Not for children under 12. If a headache is unusually severe, comes on suddenly, or comes with a stiff neck, rash, weakness or confusion, seek medical help rather than treating it yourself.
