Diabetes — your questions, answered
How can a pharmacy help with diabetes?
We stock home testing and monitoring kits, lancets and everyday essentials, and our pharmacist can advise on managing your medicines, diet and foot care. We work alongside your diabetes team, not instead of it.
What should I keep at home?
A blood glucose monitor and testing strips, lancets, and — if you're on insulin or certain tablets — a way to treat a hypo, such as glucose tablets. We can help you choose.
When should I see my GP or diabetes team?
For changes in your readings, new symptoms, medication reviews, or your annual checks. If you feel very unwell, seek urgent help.
Information only — always read the patient leaflet and ask our pharmacist if you're unsure. Prescription treatments are supplied only after a consultation and our pharmacist's approval.
