Yes — through the free NHS contraception service at our pharmacy. Our pharmacist can carry out your routine checks, such as blood pressure, and keep up your supply of the pill without a GP appointment, where it's clinically suitable for you.

The combined pill contains two hormones (oestrogen and progestogen); the progestogen-only or "mini" pill contains just one. They're taken differently and suit different people — our pharmacist can talk you through which is likely to work best for you.

It depends on which pill you take and how late you are, so check your patient leaflet or ask our pharmacist. If you've had unprotected sex after missing pills, emergency contraception may be an option — the sooner you ask, the more choices you have.

No — no contraceptive pill protects against STIs. Condoms are the only method that does, so many people use them alongside the pill. If you think you may have been at risk, a sexual health clinic can arrange testing.
