1 in 2
Around half of men aged 40–70 experience some degree of erectile difficulty — it’s one of the most common conditions we treat, and one of the most treatable.
NICE Clinical Knowledge Summaries: Erectile dysfunction (prevalence). ED can also be an early sign of circulation problems — another reason a proper clinical check matters.

ED safety pre-check

Answered on your device — nothing is sent anywhere.

1. Do you take nitrates (e.g. GTN spray, isosorbide), nicorandil — or use ‘poppers’?
2. Heart attack, stroke or a serious heart-rhythm problem in the last 6 months?
3. Is your blood pressure very low (below 90/50) or very high and uncontrolled (above 170/100)?

A guide only — never an approval or refusal. The full consultation covers every check in the pharmacist’s clinical criteria, and the pharmacist makes every supply decision.

A quick guide

Which strength should I choose?

You don’t have to work this out alone — but here’s how it works, so nothing feels like a guess. Everyone starts at a standard dose, and our pharmacist confirms what’s right for you before anything is supplied.

1

Start at the standard dose

Almost everyone new to treatment begins here: sildenafil 50 mg, tadalafil 10 mg, or vardenafil 10 mg. It’s the sensible first step.

2

A lower start for some

If you’re 65 or over, have kidney or liver problems, or take certain other medicines, the pharmacist may start you lower (e.g. sildenafil 25 mg). Your answers tell us this.

3

Adjust if you need to

If the standard dose isn’t enough and you tolerated it well, the pharmacist can step you up — sildenafil to 100 mg, tadalafil or vardenafil to 20 mg. No need to guess high first.

The golden rule for all three: never more than one dose in 24 hours (maximum sildenafil 100 mg, tadalafil 20 mg or vardenafil 20 mg per dose). You can request a strength in your consultation — the pharmacist simply confirms it’s the right choice for you before supply.

How it works

From first question to discreet delivery

No video call, no waiting room — a confidential online check reviewed by a real clinician.

1

Answer online

A short, confidential questionnaire built on the official clinical criteria — about 5 minutes, on any device.

2

Pharmacist reviews

Our prescribing pharmacists personally review your answers — usually within one working day. No video call needed; they’ll phone if anything needs clarifying.

3

Discreet supply

If suitable: collect in store, or plain, unmarked tracked delivery. Payment only once the pharmacist has approved.

4

Ongoing support

Dose review if it’s not working well, side-effect advice on the phone, and a GP referral if your health needs it.

Who it’s for

The clinical criteria, in plain English

These are the checks your pharmacist confirms at consultation — the questionnaire is a structured version of exactly these rules.

Men 18+

With difficulty getting or keeping an erection sufficient for satisfactory sex.

Never with nitrates

GTN spray, isosorbide, nicorandil or ‘poppers’ — the combination is dangerous. We screen for it, always.

Heart & BP checked

Recent heart events, angina, heart failure and blood-pressure extremes are screened. Don’t know your BP? We check it free.

No GP referral

Our prescribing pharmacists run the full assessment — and point you to your GP whenever that’s the safer route.

Some medicines (HIV protease inhibitors, riociguat, certain antifungals and heart-rhythm medicines) and some conditions (severe liver disease, certain eye conditions, conditions predisposing to priapism) mean we can’t supply online — the consultation checks each one, and the pharmacist explains anything that applies to you.

Common questions

Questions, answered plainly

Do I need a video call?
No. ED treatment doesn’t need a video consultation — you complete a short confidential questionnaire online and our prescribing pharmacist reviews it personally, usually within one working day. The pharmacist may phone you if anything needs clarifying.
Which ED tablet is right for me?
All three work the same way — the practical differences are speed of onset, the length of the window (sildenafil/vardenafil ~4–5 hours, tadalafil up to 36 hours) and food’s effect. Our 1-minute treatment finder points you to a good starting place, or pick ‘not sure’ and the pharmacist will recommend.
Can I choose my own strength?
Yes — you can request a strength, and everyone new to treatment normally begins at the standard starting dose (sildenafil 50 mg, tadalafil 10 mg, vardenafil 10 mg). The pharmacist confirms the right strength for you before anything is supplied.
How discreet is the service?
Completely. The consultation is confidential, delivery is in plain, unmarked packaging with nothing to identify the contents, and you can also collect in store in Leeds.
What if I take heart medicine?
ED tablets must never be combined with nitrates (like GTN spray), nicorandil or ‘poppers’ — the questionnaire screens for this and the pharmacist checks your medicines carefully. If ED tablets aren’t safe for you, we’ll say so and point you to your GP.
Is there a consultation fee?
No — the online consultation is free and there’s no obligation. You only pay for treatment once the pharmacist has agreed it’s appropriate for you.

Important. Sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil are prescription-only medicines supplied under Patient Group Directions after a structured clinical check. Our prescribing pharmacists personally review every consultation and make the final decision — nothing is approved automatically, and where your GP or another NHS route is more appropriate we will say so. Information on this page is factual service information, not a recommendation to use any medicine. ED tablets must never be used with nitrates, nicorandil or amyl nitrite (‘poppers’), and give no protection against sexually transmitted infections.
