What is VaxAid Deluxe Vacuum Erection Pump?

The VaxAid Deluxe is a vacuum erection pump that can be used to help achieve an erection without medicine. It is a consumer medical device, operated either by hand or with a battery.

How does it help?

The device creates a gentle vacuum around the penis, drawing blood into it to produce an erection; a support ring can then help maintain it.

  • Reusable device for repeated use
  • No medicine or prescription involved
  • Discreet home use

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions supplied with the device before use and follow them carefully. Speak to our pharmacist or your doctor if you have any ongoing health conditions or are unsure whether this device is suitable for you.

Common questions

Which size should I choose — V5, V7 or V9?
Size goes by erect length. The V5 suits up to about 5 inches, the V7 up to about 7 inches and fits the majority of men, and the V9 up to about 9 inches. VaxAid ask you to measure while erect, from the pubic bone to the tip, and to allow a little room rather than sizing tight. Our pharmacist can talk it through discreetly.
Is there any medicine in it, and do I need a prescription?
Neither — it’s a vacuum device you control by hand, so there’s nothing to swallow and no drug interactions to think about. That makes it worth considering for men who can’t take ED tablets or would rather not. Support rings come with the kit to help maintain the erection once you stop pumping.
Is a vacuum pump safe for everyone?
No. VaxAid say don’t use it if you have sickle cell disease, a bleeding disorder or a history of prolonged erections, and to check with a doctor first if you take blood-thinning medicines or have heart, lung or circulation problems. The instructions also cap how long any one session and any ring may be worn — follow them exactly.
Are vacuum pumps a recognised treatment?
Yes — the NHS lists vacuum pumps among the treatments for erection problems, alongside tablets and treating the underlying cause, and they’re also used as part of recovery after prostate surgery. If erection problems are new or persistent, still see your GP: they can check for causes such as diabetes or raised blood pressure. Our ED treatment guide compares the options.
