What is Accu-Chek Aviva Blood Glucose Test Strips 50?
Accu-Chek Aviva Test Strips measure the glucose in a drop of blood from your fingertip, for people who self-test their blood glucose with a meter from the Accu-Chek Aviva range.
How does it help?
Wash your hands in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry them completely, and prepare your finger pricker. Check the use-by date on the strip container. Insert a strip into the meter in the direction of the arrows - the meter turns on. Obtain a drop of blood with the finger pricker and touch it to the front edge of the strip's yellow window; take your finger away when the meter shows the test is running. Do not put blood on top of the strip. Remove and discard the used strip.

Who should take care?
Use each strip straight after taking it out, and close the container tightly at once to protect the others from humidity. Keep strips in their original container in a cool, dry place and do not use them after the use-by date. Follow the leaflet in the pack. Do not change your diabetes treatment because of one reading without advice from your diabetes team; if readings are unexpectedly high or low, or you feel unwell, follow your care plan or seek medical help.
