What is Accu-Chek FastClix Lancets?

Accu-Chek FastClix Lancets are sterile, single-use lancets designed for use with the Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device. They are used to obtain a small blood sample for blood-glucose testing.

How does it help?

Each lancet is held in a six-lancet drum that loads into the device; a fresh, unused sterile lancet is clicked into place for each test to make a small pinprick in the skin.

Key benefits

  • Sterile and single-use for each test
  • Supplied in convenient 6-lancet drums
  • Designed for the Accu-Chek FastClix device
  • Fresh lancet with every click
  • Pack of 24 lancets

Who should take care?

For single use only; never share lancets or reuse them. Dispose of used lancets safely in a sharps bin. Speak to our pharmacist or your diabetes team if you have any questions about blood-glucose testing.

Common questions

Will these fit my other lancing device?
No. FastClix lancets come sealed in a six-lancet drum and are made to work only in the Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device. They won’t fit a Softclix or another brand’s device, which take individual lancets. If you’re not sure which device you have, bring it in or ring us and our pharmacist will check.
How many lancets are in a drum, and what pack sizes do you stock?
Six per drum, sealed so you never see or touch a lancet. This page offers a 24-lancet pack and a larger 204-lancet pack — the same lancet either way, just more drums. Roche advises leaving a drum in the device until all six are used, because once it’s taken out it can’t go back in.
How should I throw used lancets away?
Used lancets count as sharps, so they mustn’t go in your household bin. Put them straight into a sharps bin — your GP or diabetes team can prescribe one, or you can get one from a pharmacy — and never bend or re-cap a used lancet. Most councils collect full bins; check yours for how to arrange it.
The prick feels sharper than it used to — what can I change?
Using a fresh lancet every time matters most: a reused one is blunter and hurts more. The FastClix device also has eleven depth settings, so you can dial it down for thinner skin or up if you’re not getting enough blood. Our pharmacist or your diabetes team can help — see diabetes.
