Naprosyn Pain Relief contains naproxen 250mg, an anti-inflammatory painkiller for the short-term relief of muscle and joint pain, such as sprains, strains and back or neck pain, in adults aged 18 to 50.
What is Naprosyn Pain Relief 250mg Gastro-Resistant Tablets?
Naprosyn Pain Relief is a pharmacy medicine containing naproxen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is licensed for the short-term relief of muscle and joint pain in adults aged 18 to 50, for example sprains and strains, inflammation caused by a sporting injury, lower back pain, neck pain, or pain in the wrists or feet. The tablets have a gastro-resistant coating, which means they are designed to pass through the stomach before they dissolve.
How does it help?
Naproxen reduces the body's production of prostaglandins, chemicals released at the site of an injury that drive pain, swelling and inflammation. Lowering them eases both the pain and the inflammation. On the first day you take two tablets, then one more after 6 to 8 hours if needed. On days two and three you take one tablet every 6 to 8 hours, with no more than three tablets in a day, and treatment should not go beyond three days in a row.
Key benefits
- Licensed for muscle and joint pain, including sprains, strains, sports injuries, lower back pain and neck pain
- Reduces inflammation as well as easing pain
- The 9-tablet pack matches the maximum three-day course
- Gastro-resistant tablets, designed to dissolve after they have left the stomach
Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. It is only for adults aged 18 to 50, and for no more than three days in a row - if your pain has not improved by then, see your doctor. Do not take it if you have ever reacted to aspirin, ibuprofen or another anti-inflammatory painkiller, if you have or have had a stomach ulcer, or bleeding or a perforation in your gut, or if you have severe heart, liver or kidney failure. It must not be taken in the last three months of pregnancy, should be avoided earlier in pregnancy unless a doctor advises it, and should be avoided while breastfeeding. Do not take it with other anti-inflammatory painkillers, and speak to us first if you have asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease, a bleeding or clotting disorder or lupus, or if you take steroid tablets or a blood thinner. Our pharmacist checks it is right for you before it is supplied.
