What is Nuromol Dual Action Pain Relief Tablets?
Nuromol Dual Action Pain Relief is a tablet that contains two painkillers: ibuprofen 200mg and paracetamol 500mg. It is licensed for adults for the temporary relief of mild to moderate pain that has not been relieved by ibuprofen or paracetamol taken on their own, such as migraine, headache, backache, period pain, dental pain, and rheumatic and muscular pain, as well as cold and flu symptoms, sore throat and fever.
How does it help?
The two ingredients work in different ways. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory that reduces the body's production of prostaglandins, chemicals involved in pain and inflammation. Paracetamol acts mainly in the brain and spinal cord to reduce pain signals and helps bring down a fever. Take one tablet with water up to three times a day, leaving at least six hours between doses. If one tablet does not control your symptoms, you can take two tablets up to three times a day, but never more than six tablets in 24 hours.
Key benefits
- Two painkillers, ibuprofen and paracetamol, in a single tablet
- Licensed for pain that ibuprofen or paracetamol alone has not relieved
- Covers migraine, headache, backache, period pain, dental pain and muscular pain, as well as cold and flu symptoms and fever
- Start with one tablet per dose, with the option of two if needed
Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. It is for adults only and for short-term use - see a doctor if you need it for more than 3 days. Do not take it with any other medicine containing paracetamol or another anti-inflammatory painkiller, and never take more than six tablets in 24 hours; a paracetamol overdose can cause serious liver damage even if you feel well. Do not take it if you have ever reacted to ibuprofen, paracetamol, aspirin or another anti-inflammatory, if you have or have had a stomach ulcer or bleeding in your gut, if you have a bleeding disorder, if you have severe heart, liver or kidney failure, or if you are in the last three months of pregnancy; avoid it earlier in pregnancy unless a doctor advises it. Speak to us first if you have asthma, high blood pressure or heart problems, if you are 65 or over, if you drink alcohol most days, or if you take a blood thinner or steroid tablets. Our pharmacist checks it is right for you before it is supplied.
