Anadin Extra Tablets combine aspirin, paracetamol and caffeine to relieve mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache and period pain, and the aches and feverishness of colds and flu.
What is Anadin Extra Tablets 32?
A triple-action painkiller tablet from the Anadin range. Each tablet contains aspirin, paracetamol and a small amount of caffeine, and is licensed for mild to moderate pain including headache, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat and period pain, for muscular and rheumatic aches, and for the feverishness of colds and flu. This 32-tablet pack is a pharmacy medicine, so it is handed over after a short check with our team.
How does it help?
Aspirin and paracetamol are two different painkillers that work in different ways: aspirin also reduces inflammation and helps lower a raised temperature, while paracetamol acts on pain and fever signals in the brain. Caffeine is included because it can help the painkillers take effect and may ease the tiredness that often comes with pain. Together they are licensed for the range of mild to moderate pain and cold and flu symptoms listed on the pack.
Key benefits
- Relieves mild to moderate pain, including headache, toothache, period pain and muscular aches
- Also eases the aches, sore throat and feverishness of colds and flu
- Two painkillers plus caffeine in one tablet, so there is nothing to combine yourself
- A 32-tablet pack for a household that reaches for a painkiller from time to time
Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Not for anyone under 16, and not for use while breastfeeding, because of the risk of Reye's syndrome with aspirin; for migraine it is not recommended under 18. Do not take it if you have ever had asthma, wheezing, swelling or a rash brought on by aspirin or an anti-inflammatory painkiller such as ibuprofen, if you have or have had a stomach ulcer or bleeding from the stomach, a bleeding or clotting disorder, severe kidney or liver disease, or if you are in the last three months of pregnancy. It contains paracetamol, so do not take it with any other paracetamol product, and do not take it alongside ibuprofen or another anti-inflammatory. Take no more than 8 tablets in 24 hours, and if the pain lasts more than a few days speak to a doctor or pharmacist. Our pharmacist checks it is right for you before it is supplied.
