What is Nurofen for Children 3 Months to 12 Years Oral Suspension 200ml?

How does it help?
Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory painkiller that brings down a temperature and eases pain. Measure each dose with the spoon or syringe in the pack, using the age and weight table: from one 2.5ml dose 3 times a day for babies of 3 to 6 months, up to the larger doses for older children. Leave at least 4 hours between doses and never give more than the pack says in 24 hours.
Key benefits
- Brings down fever, including after vaccinations

Who should take care?
Not for babies under 3 months or under 5kg. For babies of 3 to 6 months, get medical advice if symptoms get worse or last more than 24 hours; for older children, see a doctor if it is needed for more than 3 days or symptoms worsen. Do not give it if the child has reacted to ibuprofen, aspirin or another anti-inflammatory painkiller, has had a stomach ulcer or bleeding, or has severe heart, kidney or liver failure. Avoid it if the child has chickenpox or is dehydrated. Take care with asthma, lupus, Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, high blood pressure or a heart condition, and do not give it with other ibuprofen or anti-inflammatory medicines. Contains maltitol - not suitable with hereditary fructose intolerance. Our pharmacist checks your answers before it is supplied.
