What is Nurofen Express 684mg Caplets?

Nurofen Express 684mg Caplets are a pharmacy medicine for headache and migraine. Each caplet contains 684mg of ibuprofen lysine, which is equivalent to 400mg of ibuprofen. This 684mg strength is a pharmacy-only medicine.

How does it help?

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It reduces the body's production of prostaglandins, chemicals that help trigger pain and inflammation, which eases headache and migraine pain. In these caplets the ibuprofen is present as ibuprofen lysine, a salt form of ibuprofen. Take one caplet with water up to three times a day, leaving at least four hours between doses.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Do not take it if you have ever reacted to ibuprofen, aspirin or another anti-inflammatory painkiller, if you have or have had a stomach ulcer or bleeding in your gut, if you have severe heart, liver or kidney failure, or if you are in the last three months of pregnancy; avoid it earlier in pregnancy unless a doctor advises it. Speak to us first if you have asthma, high blood pressure, heart problems or lupus, if you are 65 or over, or if you take a blood thinner, steroid tablets, low-dose aspirin or another anti-inflammatory painkiller. Do not take more than three caplets in 24 hours. 12 to 18 year olds should see a doctor if they need it for more than 3 days, and adults if they need it for more than 10 days.
