What is Co-codamol 8/500 Tablets?

Co-codamol 8/500 tablets pair paracetamol with a low dose of codeine for moderate pain that ordinary paracetamol hasn't settled, such as headache, muscular aches, period pain or toothache.

How does it help?

Paracetamol reduces pain and fever, while the added codeine — a mild opioid — acts on the way pain signals are handled in the body to give extra relief when paracetamol alone isn't enough.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. This medicine contains codeine, which can cause addiction if taken continuously for more than three days, so use it for the shortest time possible and no longer than three days without advice. Not for children under 12. Don't take with other paracetamol-containing products.
