What is Nurofen Plus?

Nurofen Plus is a stronger pain-relief tablet for short-term acute pain that is not relieved by ibuprofen or paracetamol alone. Each tablet contains ibuprofen 200 mg and codeine phosphate 12.8 mg.

How does it help?

Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory that reduces pain and swelling, while codeine is an opioid pain reliever that acts on the way the body senses pain; together they provide added relief for acute pain.

Who should take care?

Contains codeine, which can cause addiction if used continuously for more than three days, so take for no more than three days at a time. Not for children under 12. As it contains an NSAID, take care if you have asthma or a history of stomach ulcers, take with food, and don't take with other NSAIDs or paracetamol-plus-codeine products. Can cause drowsiness.
