What is Nurofen Meltlets Lemon 200mg Orodispersible Tablets 12?

Nurofen Meltlets Lemon are ibuprofen 200mg orodispersible tablets - they are designed to melt on the tongue, so a dose can be taken without a drink. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory painkiller used for everyday pain and for bringing down a temperature.

How does it help?

When tissue is injured or inflamed, the body makes prostaglandins - chemicals that make nerve endings more sensitive to pain and push your temperature up. Ibuprofen blocks the enzymes that produce them, so pain settles and a fever comes down. The tablet disperses in the mouth and is then swallowed with the saliva, which is what makes it handy when there is no water to hand.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Do not take ibuprofen if you have or have ever had a stomach ulcer or bleeding in the stomach, or if aspirin or an anti-inflammatory painkiller has ever caused asthma, wheezing, a rash or swelling. Take the lowest dose that works for the shortest time, and never take it alongside other ibuprofen or aspirin products. Tell us if you have heart, kidney or liver problems, high blood pressure, asthma, or take blood thinners or steroids, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. See your GP if pain or fever lasts more than three days or gets worse. Our pharmacist checks that it is right for you before it is supplied.
