What is Tiger Balm Muscle & Tension Lotion 80ml?

This is the lotion in the Tiger Balm range, sold as a cosmetic rather than a medicine. It is a light, non-greasy lotion containing camphor and menthol that you massage into the neck, shoulders, back or legs. The relaxing effect comes from the massage action itself; the lotion is what makes the skin easy to work over, and it leaves the familiar warm-then-cool Tiger Balm sensation behind.

How does it help?

You pour a little into your hands and massage it into the area you are working on. The camphor and menthol give a warming feel on the skin that turns cooler as it settles — the sensation Tiger Balm is known for. Because it is a lotion, it spreads over a wide area and rubs in without leaving a greasy film on the skin or on your clothes.

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use. For external use on unbroken skin only. Keep it well away from the eyes, mouth, nose and other sensitive areas, and wash your hands after using it. Do not apply it to broken, irritated, inflamed or sunburnt skin, do not cover the area with a tight bandage, and do not put a hot water bottle or heat pad over it. Stop using it if the skin becomes sore, red or itchy. Do a small test patch first if your skin reacts easily. Not for use on young children — ask our pharmacist, who checks that what you have chosen is right for you before it is dispensed. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
