Movelat Cream is a pharmacy anti-inflammatory rub containing salicylic acid and mucopolysaccharide polysulfate, used to ease muscular pain, stiffness, sprains and strains.
What is Movelat Cream 125g?
Movelat Cream is a rub-in cream for sore muscles and joints. It is licensed for the symptomatic relief of muscular pain and stiffness, sprains and strains, and for pain caused by rheumatic and non-serious arthritic conditions. It is a pharmacy medicine, so our pharmacist checks it is right for you before it is dispensed.
How does it help?
The cream contains two ingredients that are absorbed through the skin and act locally, where the pain is, rather than throughout the body. Salicylic acid has an anti-inflammatory action that helps calm pain and swelling in the tissue underneath. Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate (MPS) is a heparin-like substance that also helps reduce inflammation in the affected area. A 5 to 15cm strip is massaged into the painful area up to four times a day, and the rubbing itself brings gentle warmth to the sore spot.
Key benefits
- Applied directly to the painful area, up to four times a day
- Licensed for muscular pain and stiffness, sprains and strains
- Also licensed for pain from rheumatic and non-serious arthritic conditions
- Cream texture massages in, which some people prefer for stiff muscles
Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. For external use only and not for children under 12. Do not use if you are allergic to aspirin, salicylates or anti-inflammatory painkillers (NSAIDs). Keep it away from the eyes and do not apply to broken, sensitive or infected skin, eczema or mucous membranes. Avoid during the first three months and the final weeks of pregnancy, and do not apply to the breast area while breastfeeding. Stop using it if the skin becomes very irritated. Clothing or bedding that has soaked up the product catches fire more easily, so do not smoke or go near naked flames while using it. If you are unsure whether it suits you, ask our pharmacist.
