What is Flarin 200mg Ibuprofen Soft Capsules 30?

Flarin is a pharmacy-only ibuprofen in a soft capsule, with the ibuprofen dissolved in lipids (oils). It is licensed for rheumatic and muscular pain, the pain of non-serious arthritic conditions, backache, neuralgia, migraine, headache, dental pain, period pain, feverishness and the symptoms of colds and flu.

How does it help?

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It blocks the enzymes that make prostaglandins, the chemicals the body releases at a sore joint or muscle that drive pain, swelling and fever. With less prostaglandin being made, there is less pain and inflammation at the affected area.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Not for children under 12. Do not take if you have ever had an allergic reaction to aspirin or another anti-inflammatory painkiller, if you have or have had a stomach ulcer or bleeding from the stomach or bowel, if you have severe heart, kidney or liver problems, or in the last three months of pregnancy. Speak to our pharmacist first if you have asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease or kidney problems, if you are 65 or over, or if you take other medicines. Do not take with any other ibuprofen or anti-inflammatory product. If pain lasts more than 10 days, or fever more than 3 days, ask our pharmacist or your GP for advice.
