What is Biofreeze Gel 118ml?

Biofreeze Gel is a cooling gel containing menthol that you apply to the skin over sore muscles and joints. In the UK it is registered as a medical device, not a medicine. It is used for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains such as backache, sore muscles, aching joints, strains and sprains.

How does it help?

Rubbed onto the skin, the gel gives a strong cooling feeling over the painful area. This is a form of cold therapy. Like a cold pack, the cooling feeling can help to dull how much of the ache you notice, and there are no tablets to take.

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use. For use on the skin only. Apply a thin layer to the painful area no more than four times a day, and wash your hands afterwards. Do not use on broken, irritated, sunburnt or damaged skin, open wounds or stitches. Keep it away from the eyes, mouth and other sensitive areas. Do not use it with other creams, ointments, sprays or rubs on the same area. Do not bandage the area or use a heat pad over it. It is not suitable for children under 2. Speak to our pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have sensitive skin or have diabetes. Stop using it and get advice if your skin becomes irritated, or if the pain gets worse or lasts more than 7 days. If any is swallowed, get medical help straight away.
