What is Care+ Ibuprofen 5% w/w Gel 50g?

Care+ Ibuprofen 5% w/w Gel is a topical anti-inflammatory painkiller for backache, rheumatic and muscular pain, sprains, strains and sports injuries, for adults and children over 14.

How does it help?

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) that works where it is applied, easing pain and swelling. Squeeze 5 to 10cm of gel from the tube and massage it gently into the painful area until absorbed - no more often than every 4 hours and no more than 4 times in 24 hours. Wash your hands afterwards.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Not for children under 14 unless a doctor advises. Do not use it if you are allergic to ibuprofen, or have had asthma, a runny nose, swelling or hives after aspirin or another anti-inflammatory; if you have kidney failure; or in the last three months of pregnancy. Avoid the eyes, mouth and broken or inflamed skin, do not cover with an airtight dressing, and keep treated skin out of strong sunlight. Speak to our pharmacist first if you have asthma, kidney problems or a stomach ulcer, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. See a doctor if the pain has not improved after 2 weeks.
