What is Calgel Teething Gel 10g?

Calgel Teething Gel is a pharmacy medicine for the relief of teething pain and discomfort in babies and toddlers from 5 months, for use when non-medicine measures have not given enough relief.

How does it help?

Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic that numbs the sore gum, and cetylpyridinium chloride is a mild antiseptic. Put a pea-sized amount (0.2g) on a clean fingertip and gently rub it onto the sore area of gum. Repeat after 3 hours if needed, up to 6 times in 24 hours. Stop once the pain settles, and do not use for more than 7 days.

Key benefits

  • Numbs teething pain
  • Mild antiseptic
  • Sugar free
  • From 5 months

Who should take care?

Not for babies under 5 months. Try gum massage and a cool teething ring first. Do not use more than the stated amount, or at the same time as any other product containing lidocaine. If the baby swallows a dose, vomits or spits it out, wait 3 hours before the next one. Contains sorbitol (not suitable with hereditary fructose intolerance or related sugar disorders), castor oil, a little alcohol and benzyl alcohol. See a doctor if your baby seems unwell, has a high temperature, or the pain gets worse.
