What is Aspirin 300mg Tablets & Dispersible Tablets 32?

Plain aspirin, the long-established painkiller, in a 300mg tablet: choose the standard tablet swallowed with water or the dispersible tablet, which is stirred into a glass of water before drinking. It is licensed for mild to moderate pain including headache, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat and period pain, for sprains, strains, rheumatic and muscular aches, and to bring down a high temperature. A 32-tablet pack is a pharmacy medicine, so it is supplied after a short check with our team.

How does it help?

Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory painkiller. It blocks the enzymes the body uses to make prostaglandins, the chemical messengers that cause pain, swelling and fever at the site of an injury or infection. With less prostaglandin being made, pain eases, swelling settles and a raised temperature comes down. Dispersible tablets are already dissolved when you drink them, which makes them easier to take for anyone who finds tablets hard to swallow.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Do not give aspirin to anyone under 16 unless a doctor has told you to, because of the risk of Reye's syndrome, and do not take it while breastfeeding or in the last three months of pregnancy. Do not take it if you are allergic to aspirin or to anti-inflammatory painkillers such as ibuprofen, if you have or have ever had a stomach ulcer, if you have haemophilia or another bleeding disorder, or if you have or have had gout. Talk to our pharmacist first if you have asthma, are dehydrated, have G6PD deficiency, or take blood thinners, steroids, other anti-inflammatories, blood pressure or epilepsy medicines, methotrexate or antidepressants. Take 1 to 3 tablets every 4 hours with water, no more than 4 doses in 24 hours, and do not take it with other aspirin-containing products.
