What is Nurofen Joint & Back Max Strength 10% Gel 40g?

Nurofen Joint & Back Max Strength 10% Gel is a medicine for the relief of pain and inflammation from backache, rheumatic pain, muscular aches and swellings such as sprains, strains and sports injuries, for adults and children over 12.

How does it help?

Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory painkiller; in a gel it works where you apply it, with less reaching the rest of the body than tablets. Squeeze 2 to 5cm of gel and rub it lightly into the painful area until absorbed, up to four times a day with at least 4 hours between doses. Wash your hands afterwards. If it is not better after 2 weeks, see a doctor or pharmacist.

Who should take care?

Not for children 12 and under, or in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Do not use if you are allergic to ibuprofen, aspirin or other anti-inflammatory painkillers (especially with asthma, a runny nose or hives). Only on unbroken skin - not near the eyes, lips or mouth, and not under tight dressings. Stop if a rash develops. Ask first if you have asthma, a stomach ulcer, kidney problems, or take other painkillers. Avoid strong sunlight on treated skin. Contains benzyl alcohol.
