Yes. It cleanses with gentle detergents rather than soap, which is why it tends to be less drying than a traditional bar. It carries Aveeno’s oat — oat kernel extract and oat flour — and it’s dermatologist tested for normal to dry, sensitive skin. It’s a cosmetic wash, so it cleanses and helps skin hold moisture rather than treating a condition.
Is it fragrance-free?
No — the Daily Moisturising body wash is lightly scented, and parfum appears on its ingredient list. Worth knowing if fragrance is a trigger for your skin. Aveeno make fragrance-free washes in their sensitive ranges, and a fragrance-free leave-on option such as Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion is another route. Can I use it if my skin reacts to oats?
If you know your skin reacts to oats, this isn’t the wash for you — oat kernel extract and oat flour are both in the formula. The same goes for any other ingredient you’ve reacted to before, so it’s worth reading the pack first. Stop using it if your skin stings, reddens or itches, and ask our pharmacist for an alternative.
Can I use it for eczema, and when should skin be looked at?
It’s a cosmetic wash, not an eczema treatment. NHS advice for eczema is to wash with an emollient instead of soap and to use a leave-on emollient regularly — see our eczema and dermatitis range.
