What is Vicks Inhaler Nasal Stick?

Vicks Inhaler is a small nasal stick with a wick soaked in menthol, camphor and Siberian pine needle oil. It is a licensed medicine for relieving nasal congestion caused by colds and other upper respiratory infections, and by allergies.

How does it help?

When you breathe in through the stick, the vapours of menthol, camphor and pine needle oil act on the lining of the nasal passages, which helps breathing feel clearer and cooler. The ingredients work locally in the nose, and little or none is absorbed into the body.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Do not use it if you are allergic to menthol, camphor, pine needle oil or methyl salicylate, which it also contains. It is not recommended for children under 6. For hygiene, do not use the same stick for more than 28 days after first opening. Nasal discomfort has been reported very rarely.
