What is Strefen Direct Cherry & Mint 8.75mg Sore Throat Spray 15ml?

Strefen Direct Cherry and Mint Flavour 8.75mg Oromucosal Spray is a pharmacy medicine for the short-term relief of an acute sore throat in adults. It contains flurbiprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID).

How does it help?

Flurbiprofen reduces the inflammation that makes a sore throat painful. Before first use, prime the pump by spraying at least four times away from you. Then spray one dose - 3 sprays - onto the back of the throat every 3 to 6 hours as needed, with no more than 5 doses in 24 hours, and do not breathe in while spraying. Use it for no more than 3 days.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Adults 18 and over only. Do not use it if you have had an allergic reaction (including asthma, a runny nose, swelling or hives) to aspirin or another anti-inflammatory painkiller; if you have or have had a stomach ulcer or bleeding; if you have severe heart, kidney or liver failure; or if you are pregnant. Do not use it with other anti-inflammatory painkillers such as ibuprofen. Speak to our pharmacist first if you have asthma, are older, or are breastfeeding. See a doctor if you have a high temperature, pus on the tonsils or signs of a bacterial infection, or if the sore throat is severe or not improving after 3 days.
