What is Covonia Medicated Sore Throat Lozenges Lemon 5mg/1mg 36?
Covonia Medicated Sore Throat Lozenges are a pharmacy medicine for the short-term relief of a sore throat and irritation of the throat and mouth, for adults and children aged 12 and over.
How does it help?
Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic that quickly numbs the pain, and chlorhexidine is an antiseptic that reduces germs in the mouth and throat. Let each lozenge dissolve slowly in the mouth. Adults: 6 to 10 lozenges a day. Children 12 and over: half the adult dose. Use only as long as needed - see a doctor if there is no improvement in 3 to 4 days.

Who should take care?
Not for children under 12. Do not take more than 20 lozenges a day: too much can numb the throat and affect swallowing. Do not use long term or with other antiseptic throat products. Contains sorbitol (not suitable with hereditary fructose intolerance) and aspartame (not suitable with phenylketonuria). A sore throat with a high temperature may need other treatment - see a GP if it lasts more than a week, and call 999 if you have difficulty breathing or swallowing.
