Lemsip Cough for Mucus Cough & Catarrh is a guaifenesin oral solution that loosens chest mucus to relieve chesty coughs and catarrh with colds, flu and mild throat infections, for ages 12 and over.
What is Lemsip Cough for Mucus Cough & Catarrh Oral Solution 180ml?
Lemsip Cough for Mucus Cough & Catarrh is an oral solution containing guaifenesin, an expectorant, and cetylpyridinium chloride, a mild antiseptic. It is for the relief of chesty coughs and catarrh that come with colds, flu and mild throat infections, in adults and children aged 12 and over.
How does it help?
Guaifenesin thins and loosens the sticky mucus in your chest so it is easier to cough up, which helps clear a chesty cough. Cetylpyridinium chloride is a mild antiseptic that acts in the mouth and throat as the liquid passes over them. Adults and children aged 12 and over take 5 to 10 ml every four to six hours as needed, up to four doses in 24 hours.

- Helps with the catarrh that often comes with a cold or flu
- Measured liquid dose - 5 to 10 ml every four to six hours, no more than four doses a day
- Suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over
Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Not for children under 12. Do not take more than four doses in 24 hours. Ask the pharmacist or your doctor before use if you have a long-term (chronic) cough or asthma, and do not use it during an asthma attack. Stop and seek advice if the cough lasts more than five days, comes back, or comes with a fever, rash or persistent headache. Contains sorbitol and a very small amount of alcohol; not suitable if you have hereditary fructose intolerance. Do not use in pregnancy or while breastfeeding unless a doctor or pharmacist has advised it. Our pharmacist checks it is right for you before it is dispensed.
