What is Lamisil AT 1% Spray 15ml?

Lamisil AT 1% Spray is a clear antifungal spray containing terbinafine. It is used to treat athlete's foot (tinea pedis) between and around the toes, and jock itch (tinea cruris) in the groin, in people aged 16 and over.

How does it help?

Terbinafine kills the fungus that causes the infection by blocking an enzyme it needs to build its cell membrane. After washing and drying the area, you spray it once a day onto the affected skin and a little of the surrounding skin for one week. Relief of symptoms usually starts within a few days, but finishing the full week matters - stopping early or missing days carries a risk of the infection coming back.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Not for use in children under 16. For external use only - do not use on the face, avoid the eyes and do not breathe in the spray. It contains alcohol, which can sting on broken or raw skin, so take care where the skin is damaged. Do not use if you have ever reacted to terbinafine or any of the other ingredients. Not to be used while breastfeeding, and in pregnancy only if a doctor or pharmacist has advised it. If there is no improvement after a week, speak to the pharmacist.
