What is Fybogel Mebeverine Sachets 10?
Fybogel Mebeverine is a pharmacy medicine for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Each sachet contains two ingredients: ispaghula husk, a natural bulk-forming fibre, and mebeverine, an antispasmodic. The granules are stirred into a glass of water and taken twice a day, half an hour before meals.
How does it help?
The ispaghula fibre absorbs water in the bowel and forms a soft bulk that helps normalise bowel habit. Mebeverine acts directly on the muscle in the gut wall, relaxing the cramping spasms that cause IBS pain and bloating. Together they address both the bowel habit and the discomfort of IBS.

- Licensed for the symptomatic relief of IBS
- Addresses both bowel habit and cramping pain in one sachet
- Mebeverine acts directly on the muscle of the gut wall

Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Not recommended for children under 12. Always mix the sachet with at least 150ml of water and drink it straight away; never take it dry, and do not take it just before going to bed. Do not use if you have a sudden change in bowel habit that has lasted more than two weeks, unexplained bleeding from the back passage, difficulty swallowing or any throat problem, a narrowing or blockage of the gut, or a paralysed bowel. Avoid during pregnancy. Contains aspartame, a source of phenylalanine, which may be harmful if you have phenylketonuria (PKU). If your symptoms are new, IBS should be confirmed by a doctor before treating it yourself.
