What is BuscoMint Peppermint Oil 0.2ml Gastro-Resistant Capsules 24?
BuscoMint is a herbal medicinal product containing peppermint oil, for symptomatic relief of abdominal pain, minor spasms of the gut and flatulence, especially in people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
How does it help?
Peppermint oil relaxes the smooth muscle of the bowel, easing cramps, pain, bloating and trapped wind. The gastro-resistant capsules pass through the stomach and release in the bowel. Adults and children 12 and over who weigh at least 40kg: one capsule three times a day, swallowed whole with liquid, up to 30 minutes before a meal. Do not chew or break the capsules.

Who should take care?
Always read the leaflet. Do not take it if you are allergic to peppermint oil or menthol; have liver disease, gallstones, a bile duct infection or another gallbladder problem, or reduced stomach acid; weigh less than 40kg; are under 12; or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Swallow the capsules whole - breaking them can irritate the mouth and food pipe. If you have heartburn or a hiatus hernia it may make it worse; stop if so. See your doctor if you are no better or worse after two weeks, or straight away if pain comes with fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes, vomiting, blood in your stool, unexplained weight loss or a change in bowel habit.
