What is Dermatix Silicone Scar Gel 15g?

Dermatix Silicone Scar Gel is a clear silicone gel for the management of scars left by surgery, burns or injury, including raised (hypertrophic) and keloid scars. It is applied to fully healed skin and can be used on the face and anywhere on the body.

How does it help?

Applied in a thin layer, the gel dries in four to five minutes into a thin, breathable silicone film over the scar. This film keeps the scar tissue hydrated and protected, which helps calm the excess collagen production that makes scars raised, red and firm. Used twice a day over time, it helps scars become flatter, softer and less noticeable in colour.

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use. Use only on closed, fully healed skin: do not apply to broken, scabbed, bleeding or infected skin or to fresh wounds. Avoid contact with the eyes and do not swallow. Do not apply other creams, ointments or antibiotic preparations on the same area at the same time. Stop using it if redness or irritation develops.
