What is Benylin Dry Coughs Night Syrup 150ml?
Benylin Dry Coughs Night Syrup is a pharmacy medicine for the night-time relief of a persistent, dry, irritating cough, helping you get a restful night's sleep - for adults and children aged 12 and over.
How does it help?
Dextromethorphan acts on the cough reflex to quieten a dry cough, diphenhydramine is a sedating antihistamine that helps you sleep, and levomenthol soothes. Adults and children 12 and over: two 5ml spoonfuls (10ml) at bedtime, then 10ml every 6 hours if needed - or 10ml four times a day. No more than 4 doses in 24 hours.

Who should take care?
Causes drowsiness - do not drive or use machinery until you know how it affects you, and avoid alcohol. Not for under 12s, and never use it to make a child sleepy. Do not take with other cough and cold medicines or anything else containing diphenhydramine. Long or repeated use can lead to dependence. Contains glucose and sucrose, alcohol, sodium and the colour Ponceau 4R (E124), which may cause allergic reactions. Ask first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. See a doctor if the cough lasts more than 3 weeks.
