What is Balneum Intensiv Cream 500g?
Balneum Intensiv Cream is the current name for the product long sold as Balneum Cream. It is a fragrance-free emollient containing 5% urea and ceramide, made for eczema, dermatitis and other dry, itchy skin conditions. The 500g size is the economical choice if you use it every day over larger areas of skin.
How does it help?
Urea is a natural component of healthy skin and works as a humectant, drawing water into the outer layer of skin and holding it there; at 5% it also gently loosens dead, flaky cells and helps calm itching. Ceramide is one of the fats that make up the skin's own barrier, so adding it back helps the skin hold on to moisture and keep irritants out. Applied twice a day, ideally after washing or bathing while the skin is still slightly damp, it keeps dry skin hydrated between applications.
Key benefits
- Moisturises and helps relieve the itch of dry, eczema-prone skin
- Urea softens rough, flaky patches as well as hydrating them
- Free from fragrance, artificial colours and preservatives
- Large 500g pack for regular, whole-body use
Who should take care?
Always read the instructions before use. Do not use it if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, and check the ingredients list first if you are allergic to peanut or soya. It is not intended for skin that is inflamed, weeping, broken or infected, or for erythroderma (widespread red, peeling skin); on very sore patches urea can sting or make redness worse. Suitable from 2 years of age. If your eczema is not improving with regular moisturising, or looks infected, speak to our pharmacist or your GP.
