Is this a bath oil or a body moisturiser?
A body moisturiser. Despite the name, the Creamy Oil is a leave-on cream you smooth into the skin, not something you add to the bath — Aveeno’s advice is to apply it daily, ideally after a bath or shower. It comes in a 300 ml pump bottle, so it’s easy to use one-handed.
Does it contain nuts?
It contains sweet almond oil as well as Aveeno’s colloidal oatmeal. Almond is a tree nut, so if you or your child has a nut allergy, please check with our pharmacist before using it and read the full ingredient list on the bottle. Anyone sensitive to oats should check with us too.
How is the Creamy Oil different from Aveeno’s usual lotion?
Same oat-based Daily Moisturising family, different texture. Aveeno describes the Creamy Oil as a rich, non-greasy formula with sweet almond oil that moisturises for 24 hours, so people with stubbornly dry shins, arms or legs often prefer it to a lighter lotion. Which one suits you mostly comes down to feel.
Will it help eczema-prone dry skin?
It’s a cosmetic moisturiser rather than a prescribed emollient, but regular moisturising is exactly what the NHS recommends for dry, eczema-prone skin — at least twice a day, and carrying on even once the skin looks settled.
