What is Vitabiotics Jointace Max (84 Tablets/Capsules)?

A 28-day Jointace pack made up of three separate items, each taken once a day with your main meal: a glucosamine, chondroitin and turmeric tablet, a type II collagen tablet, and an omega-3 fish oil capsule providing 300mg of DHA and 60mg of EPA. Both tablets also carry vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, folic acid, vitamin B12, zinc, copper, manganese and selenium. It is a supplement rather than a medicine, and it is not a treatment for arthritis or for joint pain.

How does it help?

The daily dose is split across three separate items rather than pressed into one, which keeps each tablet and capsule a comfortable size to swallow. The claims that can be made belong to the nutrients: vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of bones and cartilage, vitamin D, zinc and manganese contribute to the maintenance of normal bones, and copper contributes to the maintenance of normal connective tissue. The glucosamine, chondroitin, turmeric, collagen and fish oil are dietary ingredients with no authorised UK health claim, so none is made for them here.

Who should take care?

Take only one of each item a day and do not double up with other supplements containing vitamin D, selenium or fish oil. It contains fish oil and shellfish-derived glucosamine, so check the pack before taking it if you have a fish or shellfish allergy. Speak to your GP first if you take a blood-thinning medicine such as warfarin, as fish oil and glucosamine can affect how it works. It is not recommended for children, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. A supplement does not replace a varied and balanced diet, and joint pain that is new, severe or getting worse should be seen by your GP.
