What is Accrete D3 One-A-Day Chewable Tablets 30?
Accrete D3 One-A-Day is a chewable tablet that gives a full day's calcium and vitamin D3 in one dose. It is licensed to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D deficiency in older people and as a supplement for people being treated for osteoporosis who are at risk of running short of either. One tablet is chewed once a day.
How does it help?
Calcium is the main mineral in bone, and the body draws on bone stores when the diet does not supply enough. Vitamin D3 (colecalciferol) is needed for the gut to absorb calcium properly; without it, much of the calcium you take in passes straight through. Combining the two in one tablet keeps the calcium usable, which supports bone strength and complements prescribed osteoporosis medicines.
Key benefits
- A full daily calcium and vitamin D3 dose in a single chewable tablet
- Licensed for the prevention and treatment of deficiency, not just a food supplement
- Suitable as the calcium and vitamin D partner to prescribed osteoporosis treatment
- Chewable format for people who find large tablets hard to swallow
Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Not for anyone under 18. Do not take if you have high calcium in your blood or urine, kidney stones, calcium deposits in the kidneys, too much vitamin D, or severe kidney disease. Take it at least two hours apart from tetracycline or quinolone antibiotics, bisphosphonates and iron, and four hours apart from levothyroxine. Tell the pharmacist if you take digoxin or a thiazide diuretic, as your blood calcium may need monitoring. Do not combine with other calcium or vitamin D supplements unless advised. Blood calcium and kidney function should be checked during long-term use. In pregnancy the dose must not exceed half a tablet a day. Our pharmacist checks it is right for you before it is dispensed.
