What is Dermol Wash Cutaneous Emulsion 200ml?
Dermol Wash is a pharmacy antimicrobial emollient for the management of dry and itchy skin conditions, especially eczema and dermatitis - used as a soap substitute or applied directly.
How does it help?
The emollients soften and moisturise the skin while you wash, and the antiseptics benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine help reduce the germs that can make eczema flare. Use it at the sink, in the bath or shower instead of soap or shower gel - including for frequent hand washing - then pat the skin dry gently with a soft towel rather than rubbing. It can also be applied to affected areas after washing.

Who should take care?
Do not use if you have ever reacted to chlorhexidine or any ingredient - chlorhexidine can rarely cause severe allergic reactions. Keep out of the eyes. Take care in the bath or shower - it can make surfaces slippery. Contains cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions. Contains paraffin: fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings) that has been in contact with it burns more easily - keep away from naked flames and do not smoke; washing reduces but does not remove it. If breastfeeding and you need it on the nipples, apply sparingly after feeds and wipe off before the next one.
