What is Exorex Lotion 5% Coal Tar 100ml?

Exorex Lotion is a medicine for the treatment of psoriasis of the skin and scalp.

How does it help?

Coal tar slows the overgrowth of skin cells that builds up into psoriasis plaques and eases scaling and itching; improvement usually shows over a few weeks. Make sure the patches are clean, then apply a thin layer two or three times a day, massage gently and leave to dry. For children under 12 and the elderly it can be diluted with a few drops of freshly boiled, cooled water in the palm of the hand.

Who should take care?

Do not use on inflamed, broken or infected skin, with acne or inflamed hair follicles, or if you have a light-sensitive condition such as lupus. Not on the genital or rectal area; take care on the face and near the eyes. Coal tar makes skin more sensitive to sunlight - avoid direct sun on treated skin. It can irritate - stop if it does. In pregnancy and breastfeeding use only occasionally on small areas, and avoid the first 3 months of pregnancy. Contains parabens and castor oil. Keep away from naked flames: fabric that has been in contact with it burns more easily.
