What is Beechams All In One Liquid 160ml?

A liquid cold and flu remedy that treats three things at once: the pain and fever, the chesty cough, and the blocked nose. It comes in a 160ml bottle with a dosing cup, so you can take it without needing water.

How does it help?

Each 20ml dose carries three active ingredients. Paracetamol lowers a raised temperature and dulls the headache, sore throat and body aches. Guaifenesin is an expectorant, which means it thins the mucus sitting on your chest so a cough shifts it more easily. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the swollen blood vessels lining the nose, which opens up the airway and relieves that stuffed-up feeling.

Who should take care?

Always read the patient information leaflet before use. This medicine contains paracetamol - do not take it with any other paracetamol-containing product, and never take more than the stated dose. It is not for anyone under 16, or for anyone taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressant now or in the past two weeks. Speak to our pharmacist first if you have high blood pressure, heart or thyroid disease, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate problems, or liver or kidney trouble, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. See your GP if symptoms last longer than a few days or you become breathless.
