What is Optrex Double Action Eye Drops for Dry and Tired Eyes 10ml?
Optrex Double Action Eye Drops are lubricating drops - artificial tears - for eyes that feel dry, gritty and tired. They are a medical device rather than a medicine, so they have no marketing authorisation and no active drug; the effect comes from two moisture-holding ingredients working on the surface of the eye. The 10ml bottle is the standard size for regular daily use.
How does it help?
Your tears are meant to spread a thin film across the front of the eye every time you blink. When that film thins or evaporates too quickly - long screen sessions, air conditioning, wind, contact lenses, tiredness - the surface dries and feels scratchy. Sodium hyaluronate holds water against the eye surface, and hypromellose adds a lubricating layer that helps the film stay put, so the eye is rehydrated and moves more comfortably under the lid.
Key benefits
- Eases the gritty, tired, dried-out feeling from screen work, air conditioning, wind or a late night
- Two lubricants in one drop: one holds moisture, the other helps it stay on the eye
- Can be used through the day as needed by following the instructions on the pack
- 10ml bottle, small enough for a desk drawer, bag or car
Who should take care?
Always read the instructions before use. Do not use the bottle if the seal is broken, do not let the dropper tip touch your eye or any other surface, and throw the bottle away within the time stated on the pack once it has been opened. Not for children under 6 unless a healthcare professional has advised it. If you wear contact lenses, check the pack instructions or ask our pharmacist before using them with lenses in. Stop using the drops and get help the same day if you have eye pain, marked redness, any change in your vision, discharge, an injury to the eye or a chemical splash, or if dryness continues despite regular use - a pharmacist, optometrist or GP should look at eyes like that rather than treating them with lubricants alone.
