What is Hylo-Tear Eye Drops 10ml?
Hylo-Tear is a sterile, preservative-free and phosphate-free lubricating eye drop. It contains sodium hyaluronate, a form of hyaluronic acid that occurs naturally in the eye and elsewhere in the body. It comes in a 10 ml COMOD pump bottle that keeps the solution sterile without any preservative, gives around 300 measured drops and can be used for six months after opening.
How does it help?
The sodium hyaluronate forms a smooth, stable moisture film across the surface of the eye that is not easily rinsed away by blinking. This keeps the cornea and conjunctiva lubricated when your own tear film breaks up too quickly, for example after long screen use, in air-conditioned rooms, or while the eye recovers after surgery. The usual dose is one drop into each eye three times a day, or as advised by your optician or doctor.
Key benefits
- Relieves dry, burning, tired or gritty-feeling eyes caused by environmental conditions or after eye surgery
- Preservative-free and phosphate-free, so it is well tolerated even with long-term use
- Can be used while wearing contact lenses
- One 10 ml bottle gives around 300 measured drops and can be used for up to six months after opening
Who should take care?
Always read the instructions before use. Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, or if the seal on the carton is broken. Avoid touching the dropper tip against your eye or skin, and do not share the bottle with anyone else. Vision may be briefly blurred after each drop. If you use other eye products, leave at least 30 minutes between them and apply any eye ointment last. If your symptoms do not improve or get worse after about a week, or you find you need it more often than three times a day, speak to our pharmacist, an optician or your doctor.
