What is Hylo-Forte Eye Drops 10ml?

Hylo-Forte is a lubricating eye drop for people with more severe or persistent dry eye, including dry eye after eye surgery or injury. It contains 0.2% sodium hyaluronate, the higher of the two strengths in the Hylo range, in a sterile solution that is free from preservatives and phosphates. The COMOD bottle delivers exactly one drop at a time and keeps the contents sterile, so a 10ml bottle gives around 300 drops and can be used for six months after opening.

How does it help?

Sodium hyaluronate is a naturally occurring substance found in the eye. It binds water and forms a smooth, stable, long-lasting film across the surface of the eye that is not easily blinked or rinsed away, so the eyelid glides comfortably and the cornea and conjunctiva are protected from further irritation. The 0.2% strength makes the drop more viscous, so each drop gives a more intensive, longer-lasting moisturising film for eyes that need extra relief.

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use. Do not use if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients. Avoid touching the dropper tip against the eye or skin, replace the cap straight after use and keep the bottle for one person only. Your vision may blur briefly after a drop, so wait until it clears before driving. If you use other eye drops, leave at least 30 minutes between them and use Hylo-Forte last; eye ointments go on after Hylo-Forte. Wait about 30 minutes after putting in contact lenses before using it. The usual dose is one drop in each eye three times a day - if you need it more than about 10 times a day, your eyes are no better after several days, or you have pain, light sensitivity or a change in vision, see your optician or GP or speak to our pharmacist.
