What is Full Marks Head Lice Solution 200ml with Comb?

Full Marks Solution is a clear, odourless head lice treatment. Rather than a pesticide, it uses a physical mode of action: the solution coats the lice so they dehydrate and die. It is applied to dry hair, left for five minutes, and the dead lice and eggs are then combed out with the comb in the pack before washing the hair.

How does it help?

Head lice lose water through their outer shell. The cyclomethicone and isopropyl myristate in the solution dissolve the waxy coating on the lice and draw moisture out of them, so they dry out and die. This is a physical action rather than a chemical insecticide effect.

Who should take care?

Always read the instructions before use. For external use only; keep away from the eyes. The solution may be flammable: do not smoke or go near naked flames while it is on the hair, and do not use a hairdryer until it has been washed out. It can stain clothing and upholstery and can make floors and baths slippery, so take care. Not for children under 2. Check everyone in the household with a detection comb and treat only those with live lice; a second treatment a week later is usual to catch lice that hatch from any surviving eggs, so follow the pack instructions.
