Enterosgel is a tasteless intestinal adsorbent gel, mixed with water, for acute diarrhoea and for IBS with diarrhoea (IBS-D) diagnosed by a doctor, from age 1. 90g or 225g tube, or the 90g Kids pack.

What is Enterosgel Diarrhoea Relief Gel?

Enterosgel is an intestinal adsorbent gel for the treatment of acute diarrhoea and of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D) diagnosed by a doctor. It is a medical device, vegan friendly, and suitable for adults and children from age 1.

How does it help?

The gel binds bacterial toxins in the gut and carries them out of the body in the stool. Dilute each dose in room-temperature water and take it 2 hours before or after food and other oral medicines. Adults and children 15 and over: 15g to 22.5g (about 1 tablespoon) in 200ml of water three times a day; ages 7 to 14: 10g (about 2 teaspoons); ages 1 to 6: 5g (about 1 teaspoon) in 50-100ml of water three times a day. On day 1 the first dose can be doubled. Use for 3 to 5 days for acute diarrhoea.

Key benefits

  • Binds bacterial toxins so they leave in the stool
  • Tasteless gel, mixed with water
  • Suitable from age 1
  • Vegan friendly

Who should take care?

Do not use it if you take modified-release medicines by mouth, if you have severe constipation from a bowel obstruction or an intestinal blockage, or if you reacted to Enterosgel before. Ask a doctor before giving it to a child aged 1 to 3. Stop if you have no bowel movement for 1 to 2 days. Keep sipping fluids - for babies, young children, older people and anyone with diarrhoea lasting more than a few days, blood in the stool or signs of dehydration, speak to our pharmacist, your GP or 111.
