Canesten Bifonazole Once Daily is a medicine for the treatment of athlete's foot - the fungal infection that causes itchy, cracked, peeling or sore skin between or under the toes and on the feet.

How does it help?

Bifonazole is an imidazole antifungal that kills the fungus causing athlete's foot. Wash and dry the affected areas thoroughly, then apply the cream thinly and rub it in once a day, preferably at night before bed, for two to three weeks. Speak to a pharmacist or doctor if your symptoms have not improved within seven days.

Who should take care?

For the skin of the feet only - not for nail or scalp infections, nappy rash, or vaginal use. Do not use if you are allergic to bifonazole or any ingredient; take care if you have reacted to other antifungals such as clotrimazole, miconazole or econazole. Cetostearyl alcohol may cause local skin reactions and benzyl alcohol mild irritation. If you take warfarin, tell your anticoagulant clinic. In pregnancy, use only after a doctor has advised it; while breastfeeding, do not apply to the chest. Read the leaflet before use.
