What is Canesten Athlete's Foot 1% Cream 30g?

Canesten Athlete's Foot Cream is a medicine for the treatment of athlete's foot (a fungal infection between the toes and on the feet) and fungal infections of the groin.

How does it help?

Clotrimazole kills the fungus causing the infection. Wash and dry the feet well, especially between the toes, then apply a thin layer two or three times a day and rub in gently - half a centimetre is enough for an area the size of a hand. Keep using it for at least a month, even once the skin looks better, to stop the infection coming back. See a doctor if there is no improvement within 7 days.

Who should take care?

Do not use on nails or the scalp, or if you are allergic to clotrimazole or any ingredient. Contains cetostearyl and benzyl alcohol, which can irritate. In pregnancy use it only under a doctor's or midwife's supervision. Contains paraffin: fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings) that has been in contact with it burns more easily - keep away from naked flames and do not smoke; washing reduces but does not remove it. See a doctor if it is not better in 7 days, if you have diabetes and a foot infection, or the skin becomes hot, swollen or painful.
