Benylin 4 Flu Tablets combine paracetamol, a decongestant and an antihistamine to relieve the aches, fever, blocked nose and runny nose of colds and flu in adults and children aged 10 and over.
What is Benylin 4 Flu Tablets 24?
Benylin 4 Flu is a tablet for the main symptoms of colds and flu: headache, aches and pains, fever, a blocked or runny nose and sneezing. It contains three ingredients so you do not need to take separate products. Adults and children aged 16 and over take two tablets up to four times a day; children aged 10 to 15 take one tablet up to four times a day, leaving at least four hours between doses.
How does it help?
Paracetamol eases pain and brings down a temperature. Pseudoephedrine narrows the swollen blood vessels in the lining of your nose so you can breathe more easily. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that dries a runny nose and calms sneezing; it may also cause drowsiness.
Key benefits
- Covers pain, fever, congestion and a runny nose in a single tablet
- Can be taken up to four times a day as symptoms need it
- Suitable for children from 10 years at a reduced dose
- 24 tablets is enough for about three days at the full adult dose
Who should take care?
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Contains paracetamol: do not take with any other paracetamol-containing product, and never exceed eight tablets (adults and over-16s) or four tablets (ages 10 to 15) in 24 hours. Not for children under 10. This medicine may cause drowsiness: if affected, do not drive or use machinery, and avoid alcohol while taking it. Do not take if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, an overactive thyroid, closed-angle glaucoma, phaeochromocytoma or severe kidney disease, or if you take a beta-blocker, another decongestant, or have taken an MAOI in the last 14 days. Children aged 10 to 15 should not use it for more than five days without a doctor's advice. Stop taking it and seek urgent help for a sudden severe headache, vomiting, confusion, fits or changes to your vision. Our pharmacist checks it is right for you before it is dispensed.
