What is Benadryl Allergy Relief 8mg Capsules 48?

An antihistamine capsule containing acrivastine, used for hay fever, dust and pet allergies, and for itchy allergic skin rashes such as nettle rash. Because it is a pharmacy medicine, our pharmacist checks a few questions with you before it is supplied.

How does it help?

An allergic reaction releases histamine into the tissues, which is what produces the sneezing, streaming eyes and itching. Acrivastine blocks the H1 histamine receptors so those signals are damped down. It is taken up to three times a day rather than once, which lets you dose around your symptoms.

Who should take care?

See your GP if symptoms persist or you become wheezy.
